Programme overview
The CIRES Research Master’s in Rural Economics is a specialised programme focused on rural economies, agricultural systems, development issues and public policy analysis. It is intended for students and professionals wishing to acquire advanced research and intervention skills.
A. Admission requirements
The programme is open to students and professionals holding a degree in Economics or Management Sciences, at Bachelor’s degree level. It is also open to graduates in Earth Sciences, Agronomy, Veterinary Medicine or any other qualification considered equivalent.
B. Entrance test
Admission to the Research Master’s in Rural Economics takes place in two stages:
- Preselection based on file review by the central academic services of Félix Houphouët-Boigny University.
- Final admission after an individual interview with a grand jury at CIRES.
C. Courses and programme
The programme is organised over four semesters. The first three semesters are devoted to theoretical courses, with seven teaching units per semester. The fourth semester is dedicated to the writing and defence of the Master’s thesis.
